I learned how to take photos of a light up
jack-o-lantern. First you have to buy different shaped of pumpkins else they’ll
all look the same. Then figure out your design and carve your pumpkin. Before
you get your camera out make sure you put a candle inside and turn the lights
off. If your pumpkin isn’t super bright you can put extra candles on the side
to boost the exposure. It’s best to set your camera at 3000-4000 k so the yellow
color of the candle looks warm not crazy. Use the basic manual mode, use a
tripod because then your photos are taken at a lower shutter speed so you can
get more light in. Also keep your ISO low to avoid noise in the picture. And
last if you want to get tricky with your photos put your pumpkin on a
reflectance table so you can see the glow of the pumpkin on the table as well. Just
have fun with it and make it your own.
